You choose a time, ideally based on when you have noticed you have a variety of birds at your feeder/yard
I’ll come to your house, with:
- Binoculars (at least 2 pairs)
- Published Field guides (as a reference, so you don’t have to take my word for it!)
- Field guide apps (great, because they have actual bird calls!)
Other resources (on-line bird id and feeding, and Citizen Science sites if you are interested!)
We’ll watch your birds (I love that part!) for an hour, identify who’s there, and discuss what they are up to! (There could be squirrels or other small mammals involved –the more, the merrier!)
If you are interested in attracting specific species and detracting others, we can strategize about that, too.
I’ll take notes, and provide you a list of the bird species you have and some information on their identification and natural history, as well as a plan for attracting the species you want.
